SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The new homeowners of this existing 1960’s vintage 3,750 sf 2-½ story colonial revival house, decided to give the place a complete over-haul before moving in. The depth of the property provided ample area to expand without overwhelming the quaint neighborhood streetscape or crowding the rear yard. In order to accommodate the family of five, a 2-story 2,649 sf addition (with new finished basement) along with an extensive interior renovation added much needed space to the existing floor plan. To achieve the owners’ goal of an “open plan flooded with natural light”, the existing layout of dysfunctional smaller rooms was reorganized and improved with an open Kitchen/Family room addition looking out over the rear yard. A new Guest Bedroom Suite was incorporated into the ground floor renovation. On the second floor a new Master Bedroom Suite, Home Office and three children’s bedrooms were provided.
