SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
As the new home of the Everyman Theatre, the goal of the renovation was to create a lively, welcoming presence in this emerging arts district. The 250-seat intimate studio theatre was inserted into the original theatre shell. Its north wall curves out as it plays against the framework of the terra-cotta facade, creating a dramatic two-story feature wall in the lobby space. To make full use of the space available, a mezzanine lounge was created above the entry vestibule and box office, overlooking the lobby and bar below. The Theatre now reinforces its cultural presence in Baltimore's Westside Arts District.
