SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
The new 95,000 sf Student Center at Bowie State University is dedicated to enhancing the student experience on campus. The building features a series of dynamic, student-centric spaces including a bookstore, retail dining, residential dining, a 250-seat theater, game room, and numerous lounge areas. A monumental stair links three levels of vibrant spaces defined by student functions. Each level conveys a strong sense of internal transparency, and provides views to the campus beyond. Office space is provided for the career center, auxiliary services, student union, and student government organizations. A conference center (which includes a 6,000 sf multipurpose ballroom, prefunction lobby and state-of-the art meeting rooms) hosts campus and regional events. The LEED Gold facility is the first LEED-certified building on BSU’s campus.
