SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

This garage addresses a parking shortage at a commuter school while creating safe pedestrian connections to the heart of campus. Located at the primary entrance to the Rockville campus of Montgomery College, this 918 car parking structure creates a striking presence upon entry to the campus. Following the mandate of a master plan focused on the pedestrian, the garage separates vehicular and pedestrian traffic and creates a series of interconnected public spaces. A covered arcade and pedestrian plaza create a transportation hub by connecting the garage, commuter drop off and bike traffic into the existing network of walkways and landscaped courtyards.
